“Andar per sentieri” – Late April/Early May

An unmissable occasion for those who want to discover the green island, its paths, its traditions and its peasant culture. In collaboration with the CAI and the Associazione Nemo, the Proloco Panza offers a series of excursions and hikes with expert guides.

Feast of St Restituta – Lacco Ameno 16/17 May
A great feast with lights through the town’s streets and a sea procession is dedicated to the Patron Saint of Lacco Ameno and the island of Ischia. The performance on San Montano beach, which reconstructs the legend according to which the girl’s body was “restituito” (given back) by the sea, is extremely evocative.

Feast of St Vitus – Forio 15 June
A packed programme of masses, processions, music performances and fireworks accompanies the popular feast of the Patron Saint of Forio, considered the protector of grape growers.

Ischia Film Festival – Ischia Ponte, Aragonese Castle, first week of July
An international festival dedicated to locations and places used as film sets.
A packed calendar of events with film screenings, documentaries, shorts and feature films, accompanied by debates and round tables on the cinema and film tourism.

Ischia Global Film & Music Fest – Lacco Ameno, second half of July
An international film and audiovisual industry event with themed exhibitions, meetings with artists and directors, and outdoor film screenings in the evocative setting of Piazza S. Restituta in Lacco Ameno.

“Festa a mare agli scogli di S. Anna” Ischia Ponte – 26 July
Sea festival with allegorical boats that make their way through the bay of the Aragonese Castle. The spectacle concludes with the Castle fire, which recalls a historic attempt to attack the fortress, and with fireworks.

Historical Procession of St Alexander – 26 August
Historical procession through the main streets of the Municipality of Ischia, re-enacting the story of the island from its origins to the Unification of Italy. The participants wear costumes made by hand by local craftspeople. In the run-up don’t miss the events at the Borgo di S. Alessandro.
The historical procession leaves Ischia Ponte at 6 p.m.

St John Joseph, Ischia Ponte – First weekend of September
Several days of celebration in the village of Ischia Ponte are dedicated to the Patron Saint of Ischia and the island. There is a very evocative procession on the last day, the Monday. The statue of the saint, carried in procession over the sea from Ischia Ponte to Ischia Porto, then over land from the Porto to the Ponte, is greeted along its route by numerous fireworks

Feast of St Michael Archangel – S. Angelo, 29 September
A festival on the sea dedicated by local fishermen to their Patron Saint. The statue of St Michael Archangel is carried in procession across the mirror of water between Sant’Angelo and the Maronti on a specially decorated fishing vessel followed by a procession of small boats. Spectacular fireworks accompany the entire route.

“Andar per cantine” – Second ten days of September
Food and wine itinerary with tastings of wines from Ischia and stories of the island’s oldest traditions organised by the Proloco Panza. Guided tours of wineries.
