The heart of Forio
The heart of Forio is made up of alleyways, churches, towers and age-old buildings. Those who immerse themselves in the historical centre lose themselves in its beauty and discover some truly unique stories and traditions.
The Church of the Soccorso
The wonder of Forio is just a short distance from Piazza Municipio. The church stands on a promontory that resembles the point where sea and sky meet. We recommend visiting it at sunset to enjoy a truly unforgettable spectacle.
After turning into one of the alleys leading off the Corso you will encounter Forio’s symbolic monument. Once a defensive lookout tower, it is now a museum with two exhibition rooms. The lower room is dedicated to exhibitions and events featuring artists from the local area and further afield. The upper room hosts the permanent exhibition of the famous painter, sculptor and poet from Forio, Giovanni Maltese
